The wood is one of the richest nature sources of Slovakia. Unperturbed care and sensitive exploitation of wood and products of wood, right ecology access and renovation of wood assures a steady development of all aspects of wood. Increased demand for wood is connected with the return to the nature and tradition and with positive aspect to the environment.
Do you know that… ?
Finish people utilize the wood, in relation per capita, much more than other nations in the world? Year’s consumption is 1m3 per capita, what cannot be compared with consumption 0,2 m3 per capita in the rest of Europe.
High portion of using the wood in Finland is a result of:
- good conditioned and good exploited of woods
- high competitiveness in branch of wood processing
- investments in the wood economy
- support of development of wood processing technologies, business and marketing
- support of using the wood in building and ornamental industry
- Increase of consumption of products of wood is very significant in Slovakia:
- wood is our only renewable raw material
- production and using of wooden products supports the local industry in any place in Slovakia and it increases a local employment
Production of wooden products needs relatively little energy and does not harm environment:
- wooden, wood-chips and other wooden products need lees energy for production than other materials
- after life cycle of wooden products they can be recycled or energy exploited
- more than 75% of energy used for production can be gained from wooden waste
Using of wood and support for its exploitation put strength on principles of steady development:
- Slovakian wood is cultivated in modern way in continuously good health level
- in Slovakian woods there is a years increase about 13 million m3, years excavation is not more than 6,5 million m3, the stock of wood is increasing in our forestry
- 1 m3 of wood used in building industry can decrease CO2 emissions of fossil sources up to 1,1 ton
- We can see that mother nature is step ahead and it gave us a material for building activities, that can be admired in an atomic age as well.
Union of wood producers in Slovakian Republic
- union wants to be initiator a leader of campaign for increased consumption in Slovakia
- union wants to inform about contemporary support activities in Europe heading to the increased processing and utilization of wood in family house and industrial branches
- union wants to be partner for all they are open for more wood in life
